Overview
In this article, you will learn about 'System Notes' and where you can find them.
'System Notes' are created automatically on a matter-specific basis when certain actions are performed, such as creating/editing tasks or changing the assignee of a particular matter.
Note: Not all actions result in a corresponding system note being created.
Getting Started
To access the 'System Notes' for a particular matter, navigate to the matter and hover over the 'File Notes' icon and then click on 'System Notes', as shown below.
You can use 'System Notes' as a way of auditing work done within a matter.
There are permissions around who can see a System note and they cannot be edited. Any changes to file notes will be recorded in the 'System Notes' for the matter for integrity purposes, including deletion reasons.
Using Filter
System notes also has the feature of using filters to help filter down to a particular user to see what that user has done or to find errors that occur and dont know who either made the change to cause the error.
