In this article, you will learn about 'Matter Properties' and where you need to go to edit them.
Overview
To open up the 'Matter Properties' screen, click on the information icon, and then on the 'Edit' button that will subsequently pop up, as per the screenshot below.
If you need to, you can change the matter name, file reference or other details by editing the matter.
This will open up a page where you can edit the various properties related to the matter.
Matter Icon
You can upload a local file to represent the matter in the form of a small icon. A smaller version of the icon will also be visible when searching for the matter through the searchbar in the top-right corner.
File Reference
This is an alternative reference you can use to search for a matter. If you type the file reference for a matter into the searchbar in the top-right, the matter will show up as a search result and it will display the corresponding file reference.
Assigned to
You can use this field to determine who the matter is assigned to.
Priority
A numerical field you can use to prioritize your matters.
Status
Shows whether the matter is currently active, inactive or being used a 'Matter Template'. To learn more about creating matter templates, please see this article.
Matter Banner
Any text you enter into this field will be visible above the matter banner, as per the screenshot below.
Billable
A toggle that allows you to determine whether the matter is billable or not.
Billing Preference
Allows you to set a default billing preference for this particular matter.
Price Group
A type of rate sheet override that can be set within a particular rate sheet.
Restricted Access
Allows you to completely restrict access to the matter. Doing so allows you to select the users that are able to see the matter. Other users will be completely blocked from viewing it.
