Overview
This article will show you how to use the portal messaging system.
You can send and receive chat messages with portal participants. Portal participants can be anyone you choose to be. It can be a client or even the defense/prosecutor if you need to share messages or documentation.
These will appear under the messages tab when accessed by an external invitee.
Setting a Status Message
To set the current status of the matter that the client will see under the "Status" tab, check the box when sending a message. That message will then appear in the message list and also as the status message.
Portal Notifications for users.
Note: Please note the only the assigned user on the matter will get an email notification when the client sends messages or uploads documents.
Alert bar "Portal Chat" notifications will be created each time the client portal is updated. These notifications will be visible to the user the matter is assigned to.
Any system users with the appropriate permissions can access a matter's client portal, upload documents, and use the chat function.
