New and Closed Matters by Month Report

Overview

 The New and Closed Matters by Month Report displays the number of closed matters by month by the last step before becoming closed. It also shows total number of matters created that month. This report is useful for pinpointing when the workload was high and how the business coped with that pressure.

Accessing the New and Closed Matters by Month Report

The New and Closed Matters by Month Report is located at Reports > Matter Reports in the audit category.

Report Configuration Options

Year The selected year controls the display of the report. Information will only display for the selected year.
Matter Type The is run by a specific matter type. The information that populates the data table will be for the matters selected in this field.

 

Producing the New and closed Matters by Month Report

The New and Closed Matters by Month Report is displayed on-screen when accessed. By default the Year is set to the current year and the matter type is set, alphabetically, to the first matter type in your system.

There is a print button to launch your browser's print the report.

Output Options (On Screen Only) and Header Information

Print Launches your browser's print dialog with a printable version of the report.
List of Reports The first date of the report period. Will generate as today's date.
Generated Timestamp The Period end date selected in the configuration options

Row Definitions

New Matters The New Matters row contains numbers that represent the number of matters that were created in the given columns's month or year.
Closed Matters by Last Step

Closed Matters by Last Step is technically a column header with the specific step names listed underneath. 

In the image above, you can see the Wrap-up and Closed steps. Only steps on which matters were closed are displayed.

Selecting the hyperlinked numbers in the rows display the Matter IDs and Matter names of the closed matters.

Selecting the Matter name will open the matter in a new tab.
Total Closed Matters The Total Closed Matters row displays the number of the closed matters attributed by the corresponding month or year column.

 

Column Definitions

MTD Columns The MTD columns denote the month to witch the numbers are attributed. These are the number of New and Closed by Step as designated by the row.
YTD Columns The YTD column sums the MTD column figures to display totals for the corresponding rows.
