Q: Does it work with Macs?
A: Yes, it does - it is an extension of your Office 365 account. As such, it will appear within your Outlook account regardless of whether you are using a Mac or a Windows PC.
Q: Do I have to install it?
A: You don't have to download any software to be installed onto your computer, but you will have to enable the add-in within your Office 365 account. For more information, please see this article.
Q: Does the new add-in offer the same level of functionality as the old MS Office plugin?
A: As Office 365 works slightly differently, the add-in will function in a slightly different way to the old plugin. It will, however, provide the same functionality and even more contextual information about the matters that emails are being assigned to.
Q: Should I uninstall the old plugin if I want to use the new add-in?
A: Actionstep recommends that you use the Outlook add-in for Office 365 for your emails as it offers a better experience for users. We would also recommend using the Actionstep Office plugin to manage your documents, however, the plugin will also display in your desktop version of Outlook, even when you are using the Outlook add-in for Office 365. Alternatively, you could uninstall the old plugin for Outlook and choose to use the Outlook add-in for Office 365 only. For more information, please see this article.
