Overview
Matter alerts are typically used to remind another user of some work to be done or generally bring something to the attention of a coworker. They can also be used to message other users like an instant messaging system.
The general idea is to set up a popup alert for the current time and assign the alert to another user. This will pop up on the other user's screen to deliver the message.
Creating Alerts
Alerts are created in matters by selecting the Alerts (bell) icon.
Next, select the Create alert button.
This will launch the Add notification screen to create an alert.
Select a time to send the alert. For an immediate message, select Now in the time dropdown.
Next, choose the user to which you wish to send a message in the Assign to field and enter your message text in the Message text area.
Finally, select Popup as your Method and press Submit.
The alert has been created.
Managing Alerts
Once the selected time has passed (instantly if Now was selected), the selected user will receive the alert.
The table below describes the actions of the elements of the alert popup window.
X (Exit) | Exiting the alert window effectively snoozes the alert for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, the alert will return. |
Clicking the message | Selecting the text of the message navigates the user to the matter overview screen of the matter which the alert was created. |
Dismiss | The Dismiss button will permanently dismiss the alert. This alert will no longer popup. |
Time selection / Snooze |
The snooze button closes the window. After the selected amount of time has passed, the popup will return. |
