Overview
Sometimes a customer will make a partial payment to a bill. By default the partial payment is allocated on the split defined on the invoice. There may be times when you want to change that allocation to cover a specific amount or percent of fees for certain time keepers. This also allows expenses/disbursements to receive the allocation of the partial payment.
Creating a Payment
Payments are created on the bill or via the Global Create button > Client receipt. For more information on Client Receipts and making payments, see Client Receipts.
Editing Allocation
On the Client Receipt, select the edit(pencil) icon.
This will launch the Receipt fee allocation screen. Here you can designate amounts or percentages to specified timekeepers. Amounts can also be lodged against expenses/disbursements.
By default, the amount allocated is based on the fee split in the bill. The amounts can be edited toward timekeepers or expenses.
To process, select Done, then save the Client Receipt.
