There have recently been some changes to the Email Admin screen. This article aims to help users find settings in their new location. Each section is titled with the previous screen and provides details on to where the settings have moved.
This article only describes the admin portion of where mailboxes can be added. Actionstep has now introduced personal mailboxes. For more information see: Setting Up Personal Mailboxes
Navigation remains the same the Email Admin screen is still located at Admin > Email.
The Email Setup screen provides a means to connect or define email services or methods for your Actionstep system.
Choose an email provider
This option defines the type of email setup used in Actionstep. Below are the original options and new navigation.
Actionstep built-in has been renamed "mailgun integration."
A mailgun mailbox can now be setup in Admin > Email > Outbound email > Enable mailgun integration.
|Outbound Only||Outbound Only has been discontinued. This setup is easily replaced with Office 365, Gmail, or SMTP configurations.|
|Microsoft Office 365||
Office 365 mailboxes are now configured in Admin > Email > Outbound email by selecting the "Add an Office 365 mailbox" button.
|Microsoft Exchange Server||
This option has been replaced. It uses SMTP and POP3 which can be connected separately to allow more control over inbound/outbound.
SMTP mailboxes can be setup in Admin > Email > Outbound email by selecting the "Add an SMTP mailbox" button.
Inbound email can be setup in Admin > Email > Inbound email/Pop collection.
Gmail mailboxes are now configured in Admin > Email > Outbound mailboxes via the "Add a Gmail mailbox" button.
POP and SMTP have been separated into their own respective menu items.
POP collection settings are located at Admin > Email > Inbound email/POP collection.
SMTP settings are located at Admin > Email > Outbound email via selecting the "Add an SMTP mailbox" button.
Email Aliases remain in Admin > Email > Email aliases.
Email templates remain in Admin > Email > Email templates.
The Email section, previously located at Admin > General settings, has moved.
These are now located in Admin > Email > Outbound email in the System settings section.
New Admin Settings
A new Step change emails setting has been added to Admin > Email > Outbound email in the System settings section.
This setting dictates whether emails are sent via the default system mailbox or the "from" user's default personal mailbox.
For instance: If an email is set to be sent from a Lawyer to a Client on a step change and the setting is set to send via User mailboxes, the system will check to see if that lawyer has a personal mailbox setup. If not, the email will be sent via the default system mailbox.
A message will appear on the step change screen if no system or personal mailboxes have been defined.
