Connecting Actionstep and SpeechWrite 360

Overview

SpeechWrite helps to make professionals' lives easier by enabling industry-leading digital dictation and voice recognition technology. SpeechWrite’s comprehensive integration with Actionstep gives users enhanced, seamless document automation linked to a legal matter. The integration will allow you to launch the SpeechWrite app directly from an Actionstep matter, populating matter and client information into relevant fields within SpeechWrite.

To connect Actionstep and SpeechWrite through this integration, you must first have created a SpeechWrite account and a live Actionstep Practice Pro or Practice Pro + Accounting account.

1. To enable the SpeechWrite Integration, install the packaged Matter Type from the Actionstep Marketplace. You must log into Actionstep and specify the system which the package should be installed on:

The SpeechWrite 360matter type contains 2 launchpads, (1) a HTML launch button and (2) an Icon launch button.

The HTML launch button does not require any further customisation and will work with your SpeechWrite subscription login credentials. This button can be added as a matter overview panel on the matter overview screen.

To enable the SpeechWrite Launch Icon, navigate to the Matter Type Admin area for the installed SpeechWrite Matter Type and update the logo reference field from the SpeechWrite logo stored in the Matter Type Wiki. This icon can be added as a matter overview panel on the matter overview screen, which when pressed will launch the SpeechWrite platform and pre-populate the property data fields.

To embed the CDS Launchpad within an existing Matter Type, use the Copy Matter Data feature to copy the “SpeechWrite Launch Button” and “SpeechWrite Launch Icon” data collections into the desired Matter Type. If you are planning to use the SpeechWrite Launch Icon, also save the SpeechWrite Logo in that Matter Type’s Wiki page and update the link.

SpeechWrite 360 requirements for Actionstep Users

• For local users the driver at the attached link will need to be installed on each PC that is using a Mic or a foot pedal with default settings. https://tinyurl.com/y4hkdbkw

• If Transcribers would prefer to access the system from Desktop links instead of from inside of Action Step then links will need to be placed on the users desktop (James I know Birkett didn’t want the transcribers accessing it inside of Action step but I would suggest this needs to be an option for the users)

• A list of all users will be required as part of the setup process with name and email address as well as whether they are an author or a transcriber.

• As part of the setup we would also usually consult on required workflows of who’s dictations goes to who, whether this is 1-1 or by department etc

• Voice Recognition for digital dictation also available upon request.

• Training with a SpeechWrite engineer would also be arranged with the customer as part of the onboarding process

• If the customer wanted the Mic to work inside of a virtualised environment we would consult first on the driver requirements which would be different than those in point 1 of this document.

• Depending on the users’ sites and AV / firewall settings the below may be required
