Overview
This article outlines the process to import participant custom data for your contacts.
1. Navigate to the Import Data screen.
Go to Admin > Import Data >Default Contact Types and select the Start import button for the Default Contact Types import.
2. Set your import preferences and upload your spreadsheet.
Use the "insert new data" option when you upload your spreadsheet. You can Apply your participant type and participant data on the same import.
Note: Select Update existing data to overwrite current participant custom data values. |
Select a file to import and select Next.
3. Map your custom data fields
Match your column headers from your spreadsheet to fields within Actionstep and the data formats. Match the data in the spreadsheet to equivalent within Actionstep

Required fields:

Example: I am importing custom data for the party type Individual. The participant custom data fields are DBA and Experience. The data type for DBA is text field. Experience is boolean.
Select Next then "Begin Import process”.
Tips for imports

Create a custom contact view to display import reference number if that is used to match participants

Duplicate entries in the system can cause the import to fail. The system can’t determine which participant to update

Start by importing a small amount of data. Import two rows to determine if the system is matching to the correct participant in your system.
