Overview
To ensure accuracy of trust entries, Actionstep automatically detects duplicate transactions. When a duplicate is detected, a message is displayed,
"Potential duplicate detected. A transaction with the same date, amount and memo you have entered already exists for this matter. Please review and update the memo to be unique if you want to save this as a new record."
To save the record, at least one of the following must be changed:
- Matter
- Amount
- Date
- Memo
- Trust account
This duplicate check applies to the following entry types:
- Trust receipts
- Trust payments
- Trust transfers (trust journal)
- Invoice payment from trust
Note: The duplicate check is for items of the same type made via the same process. Payments made via the "Make Payment" function are not checked against items created in "Make payment (multi)." |
