Overview
When creating billable time or fee entries, a Bill behavior option is presented. This option determines the behavior of the entry on the eventual bill. These behaviors determine if an entry is charged or visible on the bill.
Behaviors
There are three bill behaviors for time entries: Bill, Hide, and No Charge.
Bill
Time entries with a bill behavior of Bill will appear on the bill and the value will be added to the bill's total.

Hide
Time entries with a bill behavior of Hide will not display on the bill nor affect the bill's total.
In the bill screen, it is marked with (Hide/NC) in the bill amount column.
No Charge
Time entries with a bill behavior of No Charge will appear on the bill, but they will not affect the bill's total.
Marked with "(No charge)" on bill screen
Marked with "No charge" on the invoice
Defaults
A default time entry bill behavior can be set for the system and overridden in matters.
The system defaults are set per billing arrangement in Admin > Billing settings. Both, the Hourly bills and Fixed fee bills have this setting.
The matter-specific setting can be found in Matter billing options.
By default, the setting will be inherited from the system setting for the selected Arrangement.
For instance: If you set Hourly bills to have a default time entry behavior of No Charge, matters with an Hourly arrangement will mark time entries as No Charge by default.
This setting can be changed on a matter-by-matter basis and overridden on the time entry.
Reporting
Bill behavior effects reporting on fee values, as Hide and No charge have no value.
Time and Fee Entries Report
The Time and Fee Entries Report will display entries regardless of bill behavior. Only the value of Bill entries is displayed.
WIP Report
The WIP report will only display hours and value of entries with the behavior of Bill.
Matter Balances Report
The Matter Balances Report only displays the fee value of entries with a behavior of Bill.
Time Records Report
Entries of any behavior will display actual and billable hours on the Time Records Report.
